ICU Coaches Courses
Organizer:
International Cheer Union (ICU ) in cooperation with European Cheer Union (ECU) and Slovenian Cheerleading Association (CZS).

Content:
The ICU bronze level cheerleading and cheerdance coaches education program offers instruction on the fundamental aspects of coaching. It looks at the history of cheerleading and cheerdance along with the definition of a coach and their role as a communicator, educator and motivator. It focuses on the correct progression of skills and technique in cheerleading as well as for all 3 styles of dance: freestyle pom, jazz and hip hop. It emphasizes the importance of working in a safe practice environment, building strong, healthy and successful athletes that exhibit good sportsmanship. The two day course offers both theory and practical with an exam at the end.

Cheerdance lecturer a�� Elizabeth Riffino:
New Jersey native Elizabeth studied on scholarship at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, where she trained extensively in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop and theatre dance. After several seasons with the New Jersey Dance Theatre Guild Ballet Company and numerous regional and state theater productions, she attended Rutgers University and graduated with a degree in Business / Marketing and began teaching and performing for the Universal Dance Association. Elizabeth is currently the Director of Choreography for UDA’s high school and college summer programs, special events, including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and international events. She is the Dance Curriculum Director for the ICU, and developed the ICU Dance Judges and Coaches Training Courses, which allowed her to work with many international programs. She has adjudicated for numerous championships throughout the United States, South America and Europe. She is also a competition and choreography consultant for national championship teams such as Eden Prairie High School, the University of Minnesota (Team USA 2010), and University of Cincinnati (Team USA 2009).

Registration fee:
100,00a�� per person for ECU / ICU members (registration must be submited by national federation).
150,00a�� per person for non-members.

Registration:
It is expected that participants are over 15 year old and understand English language. One person can only be registered to one course (either cheerleading or cheerdance) as both courses will take place at the same time.
