Cheerleading
Cheerleading is the American term indicating a sport, which originated as a support to other disciplines, such as American football or basketball (whose practitioners are subsequently defined dance-breakets) then become truly independent and consolidated competitive sport. The sport of Cheerleading is divided into 2 different disciplines, the stunt and dance: The Cheerleading stunt choreography composed by combining elements of gymnastics, dance and stunt or antipodes, where, during routine, athletes create human pyramids, acrobatic dancing and connectors suited to the musical style selected. The Cheer-dance is divided into categories, Free-style or Poms (pom pom), Hip Hop and Jazz and provides routine during which combine style transitions, ground movements, the basic technical elements (mandatory), sockets and collaborations . The athlete who practices cheerleading (both disciplines) is called a cheerleader, practitioners of the Dance Breakets is erroneously defined cheerleader, but they are entertainers like show-girls. The cheerleading is one of the most popular sports in the United States and the nations that currently have about 80 members practitioners are divided between different continents but the number is growing due to the serious commitment of the international associations, continental and national technicians as FISAC are actively engaged in the dissemination of the sport and support youth activities. In Europe, the European ECA Cheerleading Association cheerleading promotes among member states. Worldwide the sport is run and managed by the ICU (International Cheer Union www.cheerunion.org), with over 80 nations involved, the supreme body to refer to internationally whose purpose is to promote and publicize the sport with the ambition to make it into the pink of Olympic sports. FISAC in Italy (Italian Federation of Sports and acrobatic choreography) is the federation, recognized internationally, and by the ECA from both the ICU and is the organization that refer to the instruction and training instructors, judges and athletes. In 2009, the FISAC, thanks to the Clubs of Trieste and ASD Millennium Noceto Rugby Parma FC-JazzDance study, has represented our country at the World Cheerleading and Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida, with positive reaction in the world rankings. FISAC thanks to the ICU and its internationally recognized instructors will be responsible for training instructors, judges and organize camps for athletes already in January 2010.
